Yo, Tom Science! I'm impressed by the percentage of good answers and wondered why you would ask that kind of question, you seem very knowlageable!
Clonazepam is like ativan and valium, usually "they" (the four letters people) prescribe it to people that have insomnia, anxiety or panic attacks.
It can be highly addictive. So is you take it to combat insomnia dont take it for two long.

Klonopin is usually prescribed for panic disorder or some other nerve impulse problem. Why were you prescribed it? Oh, and you "should" have either conferred with your doctor or pharmacist ....... also there "should" be a detailed pamphlet that accompanied your prescription.

I take 'em. It's a Benzo... same family as Valium, Xanax, etc., but w/ less side-effects, etc. It's what people call a *nerve pill*.
Makes you calm, possibly sleepy... depending on your dosage.
Don't drive or do anything that requires being really *at yourself* til you know how you're going to react at a particular dosage.
Good luck & I hope they help ya as they help me.
