Recommend Dorset around the Golden Cap (highest point in the SW) area lots of country walks and coastal paths belonging to National Trust. They also rent out cottages. If the children aren't too young try a bit of fossil hunting along the shoreline. Have a nice break! We intend to visit Bridport this weekend, perhaps, a picnic on the coast (Lyme Bay) depending on the weather, of course.

Try Bude, Devon.
There's camping Or bed & breakfast, pre-warned they should B happy 2 accomodate the dog.
Have a nice time enjoy the walks, look out 4 a lil bay futher up the coast called Duck Pool.
I used 2 go there as a child & it was usually deserted coz it's off the beaten track.

DORSET! dorset's a complete rave. I went there twice this summer, just outside of sleepy Weymouth in a youth hostel in Litton Cheney (thouroughly recommended and Bournmouth. Bournmout is more happening but if you want to walk, why not walk the Jurassic coast?
Ps. Dorset people have great accents!

go into travel agents and ask for a book, a guide to holidays with pets...also there is a site on the internet....but most of the places that seem to accomodate families with dogs is in cornwall. but its a great place with miles of beaches. there is also a pub in princetown, near tavistock. i think its called the feathers and is right on top of the moors, so plenty of places for walking, cheap to sleep and great food.
