No, because one of you is probably still in love with the other. And unless you break away completely, the one still in love (or the one who still has feelings) will not be able to move on. Maybe down the road you can be friends again; but's it can be very painful.

Depends on how long I had dated the person, how well we got along, what we broke up over and how old we were. In most cases I don't think you can.

If it was just a matter of breaking up, not some huge drama, yes. If I found that he was in bad character, say, dishonest, no. Sometimes people like each other very much, they just don't keep going the same direction.
