You can get an infection in your breast while feeding. See your doctor.

You may have a blocked milk duct or even Mastitis. This is somewhat common! If it is just a blocked milk duck try runnig very hot water in the shower over them while massaging the breast, do this a few times a day I had one and it went away after a couplke days, If it is Mastitis you should see a doctor he will prescribe you a antibiotic to help the infection, Make sure that you tell your Dr. you are breatsfeeding, there are several druds for mastitis that can hurt a nursing baby, but there are also ones that are safe! Congrats on the little one! Good luck

Blocked duct Blocked ducts develop when milk is prevented from passing thru the ducts to the nipple. This problem can occur any time during the period when you are breastfeeding. Pain is generally localized to one particular area of the breast and there is often a reddened area of the breast over a distinctly tender lump. When milk is blocked from draining, it is more likely to become infected. Blocked ducts should be treated promptly:

Mastitis and breast abcess
These infections of the breast can be quite painful. They can involve the entire breast or just a portion of the breast tissue. They can occur as a complication of a localized infection of the breast or appear without any preceeding problems. It is important for you to be aware of mastitis, since its early signs may not always be localized to the breast(s) and can mislead nursing mothers to think that they have the flu. Quite often, mastitis is accompanied by headache, flu-like achy symptoms, and fever in addition to the more expected breast redness and tenderness (which may not show up for a day or two).
Seek medical advice if you suspect mastitis, since antibiotics can help resolve your symptoms within thirty-six to forty-eight hours
If tolerable, have your baby nurse frequently and on the sore side first. The infection does not pose a risk to your baby, and nursing along with warm compresses can help to clear the infection more quickly. If your baby does not like the taste of the breast milk (because it can be saltier than usual), then continue to express or pump milk frequently
Do not use ice packs
Do not stop breastfeeding suddenly, as this can lead to a walled-off infection in your breast (breast abcess)

You should see your doctor b/c it could be mastitis. It's unlikely but it may also be a yeast infection. Either way your doctor will offer you some relief. Don't stop breastfeeding though.
This may sound weird but if you put cold cabbage leaves in your bra it will soothe the breast somewhat.

Sounds like it could be a clogged duct...I had the same problem after I fed...I was told it was milk letdown...it was in my armpit and across my breast. I read in a book that it was perfectly natural...but go to your dr...if it is a clogged duct it could get worse.

sounds like a blocked duct. I had this a number of times. Get under a warm shower, and GENTLY massage your breast, expressing a little milk (but don't empty it or your supply will get confused!). see a doctor tomorrow if it doesn't get getter.

it could be that you are not getting enough out try expressing
or worst case scenario you could have blockage or an infection seek medical help until then try putting a warm rag on it or soak it in the tub do not use soap if it is the nipple that hurts get some shields at your doc and try lanolin lotion for nipples

You may have a blocked milk duct. You need to see your OB so they can see what's going on. Sometimes it's more serious like an infection and you don't wan't to let it go.

Sounds like a plugged duct. Try a warm compress to open it up.
