which is made of an apple that is covered with sugar..and looks like plastic? it is usually red...and how can i make it??

CANDY APPLES
2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Red food coloring
Candy thermometer
Apples
Skewers or popsicle sticks
Mix all ingredients in saucepan. Put on high heat with candy thermometer positioned in center of fluid level. While it is boiling, wash and dry your apples and spear with the sticks. Boil mixture until reaches hard crack (300 degrees), then immediately add red food coloring and stir, then immediately dip the apples and set on a greased cookie sheet. Each batch candies approximately 1 dozen medium apples.

Red Candy Apples on a Stick
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon red coloring
1 cup water
1 dozen small firm apples
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 dozen wooden skewers
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon flavoring
Boil water, syrup and sugar together until a brown caramel color is reached (at 250-F). Remove from the heat and add cinnamon and red coloring. Cool slightly. Meanwhile force a skewer firmly into the core of each apple. Dip the apples one at a time into the heavy red syrup, drain well, and then place on a buttered baking sheet to cool.
Use Granny Smith or Gala Apples
You will need 5-1/2 inch Candy Apple STICKS.
Starting at the Apple's stem force point of stick deep into the apple's core.
Granny Smith apples are a deep green with an occasional pink blush of the cheeks.
Good-quality Gala apples will be firm with smooth and clean skin. The coloring will usually be yellow with red stripes, but some new strains are nearly solid red.

candy apple! you can go to your grocery store and right by the apples, there will be a box of candy apple mix. the box will tell you what you need to make them and what's included in the kit.

its called a candy apple. they sell the coating in grocery stores. you have to boil to candy then dip the apple in it then regrigerate it till it hardens. Same concept for caramel apples
