Or molest you, or steal your wallet, or....when does the offense get to the point where you can use lethal force to defend yourself? Religions may have different views, laws may be different in different societies, you may not agree with any for your own reasons. What do you think?

Wacko, none of these situations are life-threatening, though.

Morals aside, in a spiralling world, like response (in kind) is respected in so far as it allows the individual to live for that moment. Societies, on the other hand, are able to fill an unknown capacity, before it ceases to be. The promulgating factors (of societies) have shown it to be their foundation.

The law states you must use the minimal force required to enable you to withdraw from the situation in a safe manner, you must not become the aggressor unless there is no option and you genuinely feel your life is at risk, you can defend your self but only to the point that the aggression or crime is no longer a threat to your safety, sometimes people are charged for over stepping the mark,,
good luck and be carefull

If someone is using unreasonable force against you, you have the right to defend yourself from attack. Rape, attempted murder, kidnapping.. yes lethal force can be used. Something like stealing a wallet.. let it go.. yes it's a hassle to get everything replaced but you know a jury will not condone lethal force against wallet theft.

i think that if someone messes with you they should be able to face the consequences of whatever you do back. In theory, of course some responses might seem to be overdone, you may think it ok to kill someone who cuts you off while driving. I think that in the case of theft, the death penalty should be considered, after all they are stealing part of your life, i spent many hours and days working for the money, and then you think you can steal that from me? Its like taking away that time, I didnt spend it slaving away cause i had nothing better to do.

Its called self defense and yes, you have to do what you have to do to survive .
Thats true they are not but can you truely know the intention of someone? How do you know that they are going to rape you? You never know. If someone (a stranger) enters my house im gonna take out my gun and give them the chance to stay put till the cops come and if they come towards me , i'll shoot.

When someone is trying to harm you, you have the right to defend yourself. I would never actively try to kill someone, but if someone tried to rape me, I would defiantly attempt to hurt them back until they stopped, either from running away, getting knocked out, or even if I killed them.
I'm an Agnostic, btw.

I believe there is a proper amount of force that should be used in each situation.
