It's the same thing. A herniated disk means that the disk has protruded from it's hard shell. It can push against the nerve and cause pain, tingling, or numbness. If a disk does not contact a nerve, you won't feel it.

an herniated disk is a disabilitating ailment, a person cannot work under this pain..

the moving disk can either be painful or not..

a double herniated disk is so painful , some peopel commit suicide to alleviate the pain.
