Strategically, there is always a last line of defense. In the military world, they can be overrun. In theological debates, faithfuls always seem rational when argumenting until they decide to be offended and claim "blasphemy". That is their last line of defense from which no one can really fish them out. It is a convenient position that vehiculates sacredness to an avoidance of answering. I thus claim unfairness in debates with those who scream "Foul" when they have nothing more to defend themselves with. I welcome debates where theists will answer honestly and without looking for a sanctuary whenever they get verbally licked. Challenge anyone?

Easy B: You can try. But you´ll find it tough for your beliefs. You can start by putting a valid address on your avatar. And the "blasphemy" stopper has happened against many argument of mine in several conversations. good luck. Be a noble adversary and reveal yourself.

A religious person who is not afraid of that sort of open-mindedness won't be religious for very long. That's why you never see them.
Relying on "faith", and having an open mind... are two drastically different ways of thinking.

I have a degree in philosophy and religion. I also know plenty of theology and Biblical studies. I've never heard anyone call "blasphemy" as a conversation stopper. Are you making this up?
If you are interested in a challenge, I will run circles around you (and your meretricious writing).
[edit]
You should be able to email me now. I look forward to your "challenge."
[edit 2] This is an email I just sent you:
Hi Tesseract:
I was expecting to hear from you, but no. So I'd like to invite you to follow up on your fierce challenge to undermine my beliefs. You promised that it'd be "tough" so I look forward to whatever it is you have to offer. I read through the questions you have asked in "religions & spirituality." I saw something like sophomoric rants of a lapsed Catholic, informed by a spattering of ideas collected off various websites. That may or may not be the case. I don't know. I also don't know what gives you such intellectual confidence with this act. If it comes from ridiculing religious 13 year olds on Yahoo! Answers, you might consider stepping it up a bit.
Sincerely,
Easy

I think, as God has given us all free will, everyone should have a right to their own beliefs and freedom of speech and all that. I do not agree with anybody blatantly hurting another person physically or emotionally because of what they believe. Christians believe we are all God's people. Christ himself was respectful to non-believers. Even more so than believers. The reason being? Believers know the law and and some abuse it so we have no excuse. Non- believers can hide behind the veil that they don't know better. Once you know, you have no excuses anymore. My point is.... Believers can call blasphemy if it is indeed so. God gave us the authority to keep eachother accountable in our spiritual walk. It's not a sanctuary as I'm understanding you to say. It is an accountability.

For most theological debates, if you can call them that, I find most religious types think that whoever talks the loudest wins. It's not really fair to call it a debate when facts aren't involved at least on the tehological side anyway.

There's another "out" actually, and that's the fact that religion is totally made up. There's no right way to interpret (read: imagine) the bible, so it can say anything anyone likes, at any time, and it can ever change meanings spontaneously if it helps the theist "win".

Blasphemy is from the bible, a book written by men. I could debate you but why would I want to? Neither of us can prove anything when it comes to God. You are free to have your opinion and I am free to have mine. I will see you on the other side with me, though.

Another good one is when they cry blasphemer is to use the Bible against them; it so full of contradictions you can justify nearly anything and call it holy.
Keep up the good fight!

Actually their last line of defense is always "I have Faith". They throw that one out any time you provide solid proof.
