Why can't you do red/black/white? It's your wedding.
You could easily do a spring wedding with those colors.
Why not do red/black and then copper or gold? Especially if the wedding is around sunset? The colors will glow in the light and set the tone for a very romantic wedding?
Just because it is spring does not mean you have to do light colors. I was married in June in the afternoon and had true blue/black/silver for my colors.
Your wedding should be a reflection of you and your fiance's taste. Do not worry about traditional colors. More and more brides are stepping away from traditional colors and choosing colors that they truly want.
I know a couple who got married in January and her colors were pale pink, white, and pale green.
So be true to yourself. Pick the colors you want. If you are really not sure go to a fabric store and see what colors/prints you like.
Hope I helped!! Congrats on your wedding! And best wishes for many happy years together!!!

First off, congratulations! I'm only 17, but I hope I get married someday.
Red, black and white are nice colors, but do not go well for a spring wedding.
I would say that if you're into more "girly" colors then choose a soft lavender or a real soft rose pink. If you're into colors not typically considered girly, then I would choose a spring green or very light shade of sky blue. A champagne color might also be nice, and it's very elegant.
Good luck with the planning, and congratulations again! Email me if you would like any other suggestions about anything.

I got married in the spring as well. My colors were a very soft lavendar, soft pinks, creams & whites. The flowers were beautiful & fit in nicely with the cake and all other decorations including the twinkle lights (we had an evening wedding w/reception). Usually spring wedding have pastels, but this is YOUR wedding. What did you always dream it to be?
What also helped me was once I found my dress & bridemaid dresses I and the girls liked. #1-not every color will go well with your dress #2-not all bridemaid dresses come in all colors.
I was also inspired by wedding magazines, websites (theknot.com) and books.
Best of luck & congrads!

I think red, white and black will be fine but pastel colors such as sage, lavender, light blue etc. looks nice for a spring wedding. Click on link below to get ideas.

My friend just got married and she went for like a jade green for her bridesmaids - this was picked up in the flowers and the the grooms tie etc. Looked lovely and fresh.
Having said that i got married beginning August and went for black bridemaaids dresses with an ivory ribbon round the middle (the grrom was wearing a blackwatch tartan kilt and a black shirt). I have to say, it looked very classy!! You gotta go with what you are happy with. I wanted burgundy rght till i saw the black dresses! :)

Black and white itself is gorgeous. My wedding was black, white, with pink accents in the summer and it was very classy.
Gold and cream would be good too, as someone else suggested. Or red and cream.

for a could wedding ceremony, i like easy colours ... pink/pink/eco-friendly/yellow ... faded colorations. i've got been given my bridesmaid dresses w/ my wedding ceremony gown basically approximately 9 months earlier the marriage. of path, purchase approximately 6 weeks earlier the marriage, the two my attendants necessary to get new dresses b/c of weight benefit. in straightforward terms a precaution ... do no longer enable every physique push you into determining to purchase too early. it became a concern!!! we could have waited 2 months earlier the marriage & been positive ... we went to David's Briadl btw.

You could put peach and cream with it as the main colors and highlight with the copper/gold.
