Amber underwent a surgery to get spayed. She has not touched any solid foods in about 4 days? What can one do to get her to eat? She is currenctlly on Pedialite.

Dogs - unlike humans - have an amazing sense of what is good for their bodies when injured or ill. She obviously senses that eating solid food would lead to bowel movements, and digestive stress that might be painful. I would give her another day or two before I worried too much. You might try a little boiled rice with a touch of lean chicken or hamburger in it. When my dog had stomach cancer - that was all she could tolerate. It is very easily digested and has proteins and carbs in it that your dog needs. I'm sure she will be fine.

I'd take her into the vet, or at least call. Not eating that long after a surgery is generally a bad sign.

I would call the vet. When my dogs were fixed they were on their feet the next day with no problems. They were sore but thet acted okay besides that.
