Assuming (s)he's around 2 years? Let them know how nasty it is to be in their pants and on their skin. Also remind them that they can wear big boy/girl pants/panties once you start feeling comfortable that they're not doing it in their diaper any more.

Try putting on some underwear on him or her. When they do a "big job" in their pants they won't like it and maybe it will make them want to go to the loo. Ya know! Good Luck , I am on the same boat!

My son is 2 and we are potty training, he goes #1 just fine but he is confused about standing up and thinks he can do this for #2. I think it just takes patience and time your little one will get it sooner or later. Don't be negative or punish your little one just sit him down every couple of hours to go until he has to go.

first of all when you are talking to other adults speak our language. and the child will got to the potty when they are ready you cannot make them it will only take longer if you try to force the issue. my daughter was more pleased with a hug and a "mommy is so proud of you" than a cookie or a toy.

How old is he? reward him if ever he does it there. Don't force the kid. Continue with the diapers. A very good site is www.babycentre.com. Pls log in there, you meet thousands of moms with similar quests and answers.

It takes time. Some kids are scared of it. Be patient. Dont push the child. He will do it when hes ready.

I guess my Mom had this problem with one of my brothers. His problem was it was painful. some raisins and lots of patience finally did the trick. If this is not the case with your child maybe they are afraid of falling in> do you have a potty chair?

On our pediatrician's advice we inserted a suppository to get him to go because he was having tummy aches. Once he went we made a HUGE deal about it and he gradually came along fine. Good luck!
