I have pictures and text messages that my ex-boyfriend sent me on my cell phone, and I want to delete them, but I also want to hold on to them. I don't know why I'd want to keep them, because we didn't have a good relationship. I know this is a stupid question, but I'd like the opinions of others.

delete them.

if you find yourself wondering why you want to keep them, think about all the stupid things he did when ya'll were together (to help you remember WHY you should delete those photos).

good luck

i had text messages saved on my phone for a year from an ex-crush [[we basically dated, just not with the label of bf/gf]] for a year until i got a new phone... i also still have a pencil, which i wanted to throw away last time i cleaned my room, but something made me keep it... i think it's just that we don't want to let go of somethign we once had.

just because you erase them doesn't mean you will erase the fact that they happen. but if you do erase them, you'll be speeding the process to recovery!! if you didn't have a very good relationship, chances are your friendship will suck, too. so there's really no need to have those reminders to remind you of things you shouldn't be thinking/worrying about while you try to live your life.

gifts that my exes give me that i like and don't make me yearn for them.. i keep. everything else i burn, flush, and chuck!

How will you have a healthy relationship with a new boyfriend if you keep clinging to your past? You should get rid of them and make a fresh start.
