Keep yourself hydrated. Alcohol flushes water and electrolytes out of your body. Drink lots of water before you go out and try alternating drinks with glasses of water. If you aren't willing to do this, definitely drink about 10 ounces of water just before bed. You won't wake up to go to the bathroom because your body will already be dehydrated by this time and will need the water.
Mixing drinks will maximize your chances of getting sick and getting a hangover. If your are drinking hard liquor, stay with it for the evening. You can switch from beer to hard liquor but not from hard liquor to beer. The same rule applies for wine.
Often the mix is more of a problem than the booze. If you are drinking hard liquor with orange juice you will, quite literally get an orange juice hangover. It is too acidic for the body to handle in large quantities. Pop mixers aren't so great either, particularly the ones with caffeine. Alcohol already interferes with the sleep cycle, adding caffeine on top of it spells trouble. If you don't get the deep sleep that your body needs, this is a big contributer to a hang over.
Keep your drinks to a steady slow consumption rate, about one an hour. If you are drunk to the point that you have lost motor control (wobbling and slurring), you will experience a hangover the next day.
Best cure for a hangover .... sleep. If you're going out to get ripped, make sure you can sleep in the next day. Most people experience hangovers because they party until 2:30 and then get up to be at work at 8:00. Sleep in if you can. Drink water when you get up and have some food, protein is best. Nutrients after hours of liquor will help your body recover faster. And if you have a headache, take a pain killer.
Remember the reason you're drinking in the first place is to have fun, so enjoy yourself!

Avoid mixing wine and beer. Only have one drink if you're not eating. Since alcohol dehydrates the imbiber quickly, drink plenty of water with that one or two drinks. It's best to have only one drink per hour. Don't overdo the booze, whatever the occasion, so that you'll have a clear mind for all those pleasant memories and won't be so out-of-control that you'll create bad ones. Remember that alcohol kills brain cells, and that is the primary source of your hangover.

First of all.........DO NOT MIX. Stick to ONE liquor in an evening. I stay w/margaritas and/or tequila shots. Figure out your limit and NEVER GO OVER IT.
The lighter colored liquors are less likely to give a hangover.
What works best for me is to eat a good meal that includes steak or mexican food with my drink(s).............continue the evening, like going to a club and having a couple more drinks and then ending the evening at the club by drinking several glasses of water. The bartender is only too happy to oblige. Mine knows that when he sees me leave the dance floor around midnight to get a glass of water ready for me.
That way you finish up the evening somewhat sobered up.
If you do not smoke, take a shower and wash your hair before going to bed if you have been in a smokey environment.
If I am too tired and do not do this, I am sick when I wake up.
You are benefiting from tricks I learned over many years.

1. Don't Drink
2. If you must....drink in moderation. Don't have too many in a small amount of time...pace yourself.
3. If you must....do NOT drink on an empty stomach! Make sure to have a good meal beforehand.
4. If you must....DRINK LOTS & LOTS OF WATER AFTERWARDS.
5. Once again, if you must...don't drink whiskey! That's what gave me my first & ONLY hangover! LOL! I'm 23 & have been drinking since I was about 16-17.

Don't drink. That would be the best way. But if you do drink, drink at least 1 glass of water for every drink you have, and drink as much as you can before going to bed. If you still wake up with a hangover, try taking Alka Seltzer Morning Relief with another glass of water.

By not drinking is the only way....Drink less. 3 to 5 drinks. If you drink alot then stop it at 5.
5 shots and 6 hours later I am good, but it takes alot for me. Each person is different. Drink half of what you normally would drink.

Tylenol or Aspirin and a couple glasses of water. Alcohol removes your water from your system. If you replenish that water, it will stop the hangover. Enjoy your evening!
