Because the founders of our country were English, and the majority of people in the U.S. speak English. English is the language of modern business.

It would probably cost more money to teach all the english speaking people spanish than for the spanish speaking people to just learn the official language of the USA. Also, wouldn't it hurt all the other immigrants feelings if they had to learn a third language? It's just not feasible. Plus why should we change the official when it has worked great so far?

First of all, America's supposed to be all language acceptors and that able to accept spanish. I don't speak spanish, i can't us the language until i'm able to learn the language, but being in an official language must have possible explaination of passaging governmental affairs. So I'm not an american, and i've never been to america. But it seems like neglecting languages is an unvaluable attitude. just speak all the languages you want in these america and canada countries and able to learn the official languages hereon then. That's how I saw the history taking place.

because it has been long decided that English was the official language there was a war once over whether german or english would be the offical language hundreds of years ago though. Besides all the signs and everything you read in the US is in english it would cost of millions of dollars to change all the signs to spanish.

Cause most people here don't speak it. It could not be THE official language, but it could be AN official language. We Americans could be more continental. A majority of the Western Hemisphere speaks Spanish. It would help to be able to speak it too.

Because the bulk of the people already speak a dominant language. English is spoken all over the world and is almost a sovereign language

Spanish should not the offical language os the US. We speak English here.

Mainly because 90% of the population of the U.S. does NOT speak Spanish.

becouse this county is not Mexico, if ya want a country that speaks alll spanish then go to mexico, i really dont want to live in a country that has to offical languages like canada, Canada has to have everything in Engilsh and French.
