limewire starts as a program you download when you download and connect to the internet it acts as a search engine looking for songs ,films,files you choose to search for when you find the one you are looking for it downloads and hey presto you have it on your pc eg a robbie williams song you wanted.
its other peoples files that they share and files you download you share with others

no you won't, Limewire is software you first download and install, there's a free and a paid edition (last version is 4.9 I think) once installed, make sure you put your "shared folder" which it automatically makes for your files you have downloaded, in a secure area like in c/documents and settings/"your name/ and put it there, and make sure you're not sharing (when you right click on a folder it sais if it's shared or not) and be sure you have a good anti-virus, so you can scan your files before you open them.
What files? well on Limewire you are able to download just about anything, software,games,movies, music etc. you put in a key word, and the programm starts looking on the network inside others shared folders and showes it to you . you doubleclick on the file you want to download and in a short while you'll have that one song, game etc.
It's very nice to have alle these files shared, but watch out for viruses!!

bite_me has given you a good answer, I'd add that if you;re going to use Limewire then install Avast! anti virus as it will automatically scan the files for you.

download it through yahoo,its cool you get music and videos oh and dont upgrade cos they charge you for that whereas just limewire is free
