What are you using thats 12%? Depending on the natural base of your hair, to go blonde you generally need a 20-40 volume developer. Anyway, the best purple shampoo is made by Rusk, its called Bright. It is a salon product but as you know, salon products are better for your hair. It will help neutralize some of the brassiness.

Purple/blue shampoos are designed to tone down the harsh yellows and gold tones in blonde hair, particularly chemically processed hair. It doesn't beach it or make it go blonder, just less yellow. When my hair was bleached white, I used Shimmer Lights (a popular oldschool brand) to keep it that way. The results did diminish the longer I went between bleaching. There are also purple and blue conditioners, which give slightly better results as more pigment is left on your hair.
If your hair is naturally blonde and not processed, you would probably do better with a shampoo that uses natural hair lighteners like lemon juice and chamomile. My partner uses Sun-In Spray on his hair (lightens and highlights with lemon juice and hydrogen peroxoide, very mild though the HP can dry the scalp), and it works very well, although it takes a couple of weeks to notice results. He also uses shampoo, conditioners and hair treatments from Lush that he absolutely swears by.
Good luck!

It doesn't actually color your hair. It cancels out red and yellow undertone making your blue undertones higher, a lot like a filler. Shimmering Lights is a very good shampoo can get at most beauty supply stores and is widely used in salons.

no. if you're already a blonde, (bleached.. dyed.. etc), the purple shampoo just helps keeping it nice and not looking "brassy" or turning yellow or anything. if you're a light brunette this shampoo isn't going to really make much of a difference. its just really to upkeep the blonde hair color.

I don't know if it actually make you hair lighter, But it will bright up your blonde hair and take the yellow out that can build up on your hair and make you hair bright. Give a try and let us know how it does. Ok

Also, watch if your hair is porous, if you dont use it right the porous places can hold on the the purple.

It doesn't actually change the color of your hair by bleaching it, but the tint it adds to your hair is more light reflective than the natural color making your hair look lighter.

It's the same as using bluing on light or white hair making it look more white.
