My iron level is always low and I assume you already discuss with your doctor: if you're are a woman that might depend from a heavy period or stress and it could run in the family because some populations are more incline to low level of iron>
Anyway that's what I do to keep stable the level: spinach are good but it's better if you eat the raw ones because unfortunately the iron in vegetables is destroyed with just washing an steaming. Keep in your diet green vegetables because they're rich in Vitamin C that helps the absorbing in the body of iron; introduce lentils and legumes in everyday meal and some meat like steacks, liver and hearth (if you like them). In the change of season like spring and fall, the body readjust to new temperature so it's more inclined to take supplement : I use a German product that's rich in dry natural elements and gives no nausea or problems with intestine. I don't use forever, but every 2nd month until the winter or summer is in and then I help myself just with the diet >Unntil the weather helps us, stay out at the sun because it helps in sintetizing Vitamin D so calcium in the bones; bones mean marrow so it means "richer" blood > Sorry for the lenght but no supplement or injections of iron worked for me so I took different advices from my doctors and made personal with my situation and it worked> At least now I don't have fatigue or very low level of iron> Good luck!

Spinach is high in iron...anything leafy and green is good. Also, eat some red meat. Have you had a lab test to confirm your iron levels are low? You may have an underlying condition that is causing these low levels and not your diet. You may a condition that prevents you from absorbing iron, like pernicious anemia. A simple blood test can help pin point your problem. I have had problems with my iron and had to get it through an IV on a weekly basis for 4 weeks. But, if you are a vegetarian, its probably your diet. Try taking a multivitamin, too. Hope that helps.

You can take iron pills - but you should talk to your doctor - you can get your blood checked to see if your low in iron. Regardless if your low on iron or not, spinach is a great healthy food for you to have.

Seriously? I suppose it would help but I would recommend that you go to your local pharmacy and discuss with the Pharmacist which iron supplement is right for you. Easier than ingesting cold spinach soup...

god no.
Iron pills - ferrous succinate, gluconate etc.
and if you can't tolerate those, intramuscular injections
incidentally the first responder is wrong. your body cannot manufacture iron, it has to be taken from dietary sources. so if you exercise vigorously you will become exhausted and get cramps.
as for chlorophyll: it contains MAGNESIUM IN PLACE OF THE IRON in the heme ring. taking chlorophyll will NOT increase your iron.
and NO, IRON IS NOT DESTROYED BY COOKING OR WASHING!
it is a metal.

Simply take iron supplements. The pharmacist will have them behind the counter as they can be dangerous if misused. Never take more than what the instructions say or you ould damage your liver.
