I have a friend that lives w/ her boyfriend and currently can't stand him. He is very needy and somewhat juviniel. She also no longer finds him attractive. She has a child (not by him) who is under 3yrs. She can not afford to pay the morgage by herself hence why she has not dumped him. It is a bad situation and she keeps asking for my advice. I have told her to leave him but the house is in her name. Got any suggestions?

It is a 3 bdroom place. She has already asked me to move in w/her but unfortunatley I can not afford the morgage either. With both of our finances put together it still is not enough.

Thank you for your answers.!?

While he is out. Pack his bags, put them on the porch, change the locks and get a female roommate.

Well since the money is the main issue why she can't let him go she needs to find a new job that is paying better or add on more income so that she is able to pay the mortgage by herself. Once he is out the house before moving in with a man next time she should think about if something happens can she afford to take care of her and her child without that mans help. Let her know that the welfare of her child is the most important thing. Since she does have a child she needs to be independent and don't depend on people to help her out, she needs to provide for herself.

He's needy? She sounds a little needy, too! Actually sounds like they were made for each other!

First of all, she has to find a new roommate to share expenses with her. When she finds a new roommate, and ff she owns the house and the mortgage is in her name alone, all she has to do is tell him he has 30 days to vacate the premises. Naturally, if he has any ownership rights to this house at all, this won't work. If he has no ownership rights, she has to have the new roommate ready to move in at the end of his 30 days in the house.

PS: She should have some sort of contract with the new person about how expenses are to be divided, etc., etc.

How convenient for her! She is not doing her child any favours by keeping a loveless relationship just for economic reasons. If she can't afford to keep the house on her own, she should consider either renting out a room or putting the house on the market & moving into a place that she can afford. To do otherwise just makes her an awful person.

Put an ad in the news paper for a female room-mate to help out with mortgage.. check the person out and make sure they have a job first.. then when she moves in dump his butt because she will no longer need his help..
make sure to check that anyone moving in isn't using drugs or anything like that because you could lose your child if they do.. have seen it happen to many times.

Money is NO REASON to stay in a bad relationship...there are always better options....I hate seeing this

she could possibly break up with him and get a roomate or have a close friend or family member move in and split the mortgage....or she could sell the house and get a condo or apt. she can afford

Why don't you tell her to kick him out, and offer to move in with her. Do you guys know any friends who need a place where maybe she can rent a room to them or something? It is not good for the mother to be in a relationship that she does not want to be in.,

She needs to be honest with her boyfriend and tell him how she feels. It's not fair to him for her to stay with him just for financial reasons. If they split and she can't afford the mortgage she might consider advertising for a roommate to share expenses.

Kick him to the curb and get a roommate to help with the mortgage. Never stay with a man just for money. Be happy and get him out.

If the house is legally in her name, she can ask him to leave. If he doesn't she can call the police.

But no matter how much advice you give her, she has to make up in her mind she wants the situation to change. She is going to have to take action or things will stay the same.
