He kept bugging me about playing outside for hours, finally I just let him go just so he would get off my back. Does any other parent let their child play in the rain?

Why not?!?! It is so much fun!!! Children love the experience of playing in the rain! I know I did as a child.... heck, I still like to get out there every once in a while! : ) I let my kids go out in their play clothes (as long as there is no lightning) and old shoes. Sometimes they just stand there with their faces to the sky, just feeling the rain on their face. Other times, they run around like lunatics. Being out in the rain won't hurt anything- and as long as you make sure to take off their wet clothes when they come in, dry them off, and stick on something warm- they'll be fine. Colds/flus are not caused by being out in the weather, they are caused by viruses and bacterias. So, I say- let 'em play in the rain!

Sure. Unless there's thunder/lightning, I let my three-year-old play in the rain all the time. We live in Minnesota, and warm weather is precious. Can't waste it inside, even when it's raining! She loves to get her raincoat and boots on, and stomp in puddles, twirl an umbrella, look for worms, watch the robins feasting, etc.

It's a great time.

1: I used to LOVE IT when I was a kid ( that was when my mother was still doing my hair. I've since learned that when black WOMEN get their hair wet, it's not as fun!)

2: When you have 4 kids, all under the age of 7, ANY time I could have to myself, I took advantage! ( I dealt with the girls' hair later)

Honey, on a warm day, rain is almost as fun as playing in the snow. And look, no snowsuit, gloves, hats, frostbite.
He'll be fine. As a matter of fact, get your camera out and get a shot of him splashing in the water and the look of joy on his face when he does it. You'll cherish that shot when he's too old to be "bugging" you. Hope this helps!

Yeah, my little girl puts on here rain boots and gets her umbrella and goes out to play in the rain. Only if it's not severe though.

Expect a little mud on the tires with kids. I've got a 14 yr old that still seems to find the deepest mud puddle he can enough to clog the washing machine when we run his clothes through the laundry.. It's all part of being a boy.

Absolutely yes! And take pictures. Let him jump in the puddles and fill the inside of the umbrella with gutter water. What a blast!

I allow my son to play in the rain. As long as there is no thunder, lightning or tornado warnings.

I let my kids play in the rain...not if it's a storm, or too cold though (which I'm sure you wouldn't either).
