I don't like getting a thumbs down, but if I really thought my answer out and I get a thumbs down for it, then it sucks. Too bad you can't tell why someone gave you a thumbs down. It would be cool to get an opinion on that. Oh well. (Is this a religious question?)

I think it's stupid we have this rating thing. It's not supposed to be used like that, like I don't share the beliefs I put thumbs down, it's supposed to be used in rating the answers, if they're actually answers to the questions and how thorough they are, not like I don't believe in God and you answered something Christian I'll give you thumbs down, it's lame.

There is no way to know who thumbs you down and I believe that there are some people who get so upset by answers given to their questions they follow that person from question to question giving them thumbs down just to be mean!
I got 5 thumbs down with no thumbs up on a question I answered and to my surprise the questioner awarded me best answer.

I really don't care. Actually, I take any rating as a compliment, cause it means someone was paying enough attention to have an opinion about what I said. I'm an attention wh*re.

With a name like Captain Atheism, I fully expect a thumbs down every time I post.
However, I do tend to wonder, sometimes, what someone's reason would be for doing so. I've posted complimentary and/or helpful answers here, that people have still given the thumbs down to.
And I just wonder, do they just hate my name? Because there's no other reason why anyone should dislike the answer itself.

No, but I do take offense when others do not at least listen to the beliefs of others and take them into consideration.

Why should I get offended when the people who give me thumbs down don't know anything about me? If they knew something about me, then gave me a thumbs down, then just maybe I would get offended. Until then...

I love to hear different opinions and try and see why someone would feel that way/ believe that way. Our experiences shape our beliefs so its all very fascinating to me... I like how we are all so different.
