Not even a brand new sealed one is a 100% safe!

As you can see from previous answers, I don't think we know the answer to this one!

I would say that if it had just had the corner torn, like ready to open the wrapper, but not actually taking it out, then it's better than nothing. It also depends on the brand, because some use spermicidal lubricant and others don't. Most condoms are made from Latex, and do not perish that quickly (see link below if you want more info). However, there is a reason why they have a Use By date!

If in doubt, get a pregnancy test, and use it first thing in the morning when the hormones in your urine will be at their highest concentration.

Hmmm.... Condoms, whilst pretty safe, are never 100% safe. Any kind of tampering with it can only reduce this even further. Once the pack is opened, it is free to pick up germs and infections and is also a lot more likely to be damaged.

Obviously it is too late now, but in future be very careful. Unless you are certain the condom is brand new and out of an unopened, untampered-with pack - don't have sex.

If you are particularly concerned, and having symptoms of pregnancy, go and see your family planning clinic. It may also be a good idea to get tested for STDs in a few months, as the condoms effectiveness against these will have been compromised.

Probably not after being out of the wrapper and exposed to the elements for a week.

No, leaving it opened would make it dry and brittle. Get emergency contraception if it's been less than 72 hours.

Better then nothing but you don't know if it was tampered with or not. Not the same protection. Best of Luck!!!

was it intact?? no holes or anything?? if it was intact it should be fine.

but even condoms are not 100% in preventing pregnancy or STD's... hopefully you know that already.
