Tan or khaki color so that it will look bigger and not like a cave. You would be surprised how a dark room looks smaller and brings you down, weird but true.

To make a room look larger, stick with a lighter color. Dark colors would make the space look smaller.
You also want to pick a color that is nutural enough if you want to change the colors of your sofa some day, or switch it up, you can.
I would go with a two tone look of creamy light pinks. A darker pink on one wall, either the one the door is on, or the one with the lease amount of fruniture agienst it with some very tasteful hung mirrors with brown painted frames, and then the rest of the walls a lighter pink.
this also looks really great with a teal, or other shades of blue, and green.
Think about not just painting though, but creating interest in the room with your wall colors.

Yellow is a beautiful color for a living room. It really depends on your personality, what you like. Brown is a rather neutral color so you can really add some pop by putting color on the walls. Home Depot and, I am sure, other home improvement and paint stores have started selling smaller amounts of paint as a sample. You can buy a small amount of paint and try it out on a small area of your wall. Then you can see what it looks like after it dries and at different times of the day. Also, the type of lighting you have in your room can have a very strong impact on how the paint looks. We painted our living room and kitchen a rather cheery shade of yellow and then decided to switch light bulbs to those energy efficient florscent bulbs. It really changed the look of the yellow walls!
If you don't want to invest in paint samples and you don't want to have to paint over the sample try free paint chips from Home Depot and other paint stores. Most of the time the paint stores have free paint chips that you can select and take home. Then just tape them to your wall, and view them at different times of the day. They should also have booklets that can give you ideas for mixing and matching colors. Try http://www.homedepot.com, it has a paint selector page which will give you many great ideas. Good luck! I hope this was helpful!

I've alway though that livingroom walls should be a platform for showing off the contents of the room. I'd pick an ecru or light tan color.

So many colors would look great with dark brown. You need to decide what kind of "Look" you want. If you want cozy, chose a shade of red or rust. If you want to brighten it up, chose a buttery shade of yellow. Find a throw pillow you like for the sofa and chose a color from it. Aqua or teal are being shown alot with brown. Beige or white would both be boring. Don't be afraid of COLOR.

Go for a beautiful shade of green. I have the same color furniture and flooring. My walls are a mossy green with cream crown molding, a cream rug, and bright coral accents(pillows, etc.). I always get compliments on this color combo bc it looks very fresh. You have a great palette to work with. You should look on www.behr.com, where you can browse paint colors and post on faux walls to see how they would look with your stuff. Also check out Pottery Barn online, Restoration Hardware online, Pier One online, Ballard Designs online and Bombay online for some great room color ideas. Happy decorating!~

Do not worry about what other people will think, this is your livingroom. The color should reflect your personality because you will be the one living there. Are you the type of person who enjoys bright colors like white or cream or maybe you are vibrant like cranberry red.

Powder blue would be pretty with the browns. They are on the opposite sides of the color wheel which makes them complementary. Add some light blue throw pillows and relax!

Two colors come to mind for me....either a taupe or creamy french vanilla. Both look exceptionally well with white trim. (if that's what you have) Also, neither of these colors will make the room feel smaller.

If your a colorful person I would go for a bright blue or purple, but if your more a traditional color person I think a tanish color would look good with your furniture
