A lot depends on what you want out of the car. If this is a "fun" car that you will use to drive around on the weekends and go to clubs or whatever, and you have every intention of leaving it completely stock (with the exception of factory options), the Mustang GT is a classic and well recognized, and I'm told a true driver's car. It also has a large amount of factory options and "sort-of" factory options (companies like Roush, Saleen, etc.). On the other hand, the 3.5L V6 Nissan 350Z is the hottest import in America right now. 287hp is no laughing matter, and it's a huge success in road racing, drag racing, and drifting (which means there is a HUGE, AND I DO MEAN HUGE aftermarket available for this car). Some companies are pushing over 800hp out of this V6. It's sexy tear-drop design allows for very sleek styling, and the aftermarket is flooded with everything from widebody kits to lambo doors. The 350Z is the #1 tuner car in the world right now, which means the only limit is your wallet. The Mustang (specifically the GT) is more of an American icon, and with the numerous factory and other company options to make your car more personal without going crazy, it's more suited for an average consumer. Both offer a convertible version that is quite sexy, and both are fun to drive. My opinion over all? 350Z because I'm an import fan, however, the Mustang GT is no slouch. It also competes (and wins) in Japanese drifting events. If you don't want to go all out as a tuner, perhaps the Mustang has a few more random options to make it a little more personal. Both cars are very popular, and therefore all over the streets. Hope this helped!

350Z. more sportier, faster and better handling. mustangs, V8 model ONLY, are fun to drive however interior space is cramped, pain the azz when they break down, which they always seem to do. quickly too I might add. and more for nostalgia than driving thrill. no mustang will ever smoke a Z or go faster. Z's have a driving history and is the better buy. mustangs are for 30 somethings looking to recapture their youth. go with the Z

Don't do it. Go in one of those used car national magazines and get a Ferrari or Lambo or 700 Horse Power Muscle Car for the same money.
I just found my friend a beutiful Buick Regal for $2050.00. People don't want gas guzzlers and they are well under book.
If I can't sway you get the 350z and be done with it.

Definitely a Mustang! That's my absolute favorite car. Classic...

Although I would prefer a 1969 Fastback Mustang or a 1995 5.0 liter, myself.

depends on personal taste. if you get a mustang it has to be a gt or else its worthless. 350z is cool but not much room.

I prefer the Mustang. If you can afford it, the convertible looks like a winner.
