Perhaps in the near future there will be computerized artificial limbs that will respond to nerve signals or brainwaves that will be affordable, but they currently do have some custom designed "legs" that serve different purposes, such as the one designed after a cheetah's leg for a runner. Contact an office that can help you with your prosthesis and let them know what you want to do with it, and perhaps they can get you an artificial leg that will serve the desired function.

If you are an American living in the United States, you can contact your state's rehabilitation services. They can provide re-training in job skills (if necessary), ramps for your home, modificaitons for your vehicle -- a ton of things! Give them a call!!!
