Hey, sorry I can't be of more help, but without more information I would just be guessing....I will give you a couple of sites that carry thousands of firearms...If you run a search, you should be able to find your rifle...

http://www.gunbroker.com
http://www.gunsamerica.com

I just took a look on GB, found one possibility, the Browning BAR-22 grade II , it's an engraved, semi-auto, tube feed with gold trigger....I have no idea if this is your rifle, but it's the closest thing I could find to your description...

If you'll take the time to sign up on GB(the usual user name and password) you can then use the search feature "going going gone" , then you can search all firearms they have had up for sale in the past 90 days...

your describing a gun similar to the henry golden boy, except the golden boy is lever action. it also has an octagon barrell. they have had special editions that were engraved and it sounds like you could have a 50th anniversary edition. and you may not have had a henry at all. but this is the closest that i know of and the only thing i can find to match your description.

another possibility would be a marlin. marlin 22 rifles are typically tube fed semi auto and marlin has had some golden editions of certain models. but the 22 was the model 60 and i cant find any information about a golden 50 or 60.

you could also have had a customized gun, someone may have customized it for a 50th anniversary or birthday present.

if you can think of anything else to describe it please post it and i will try and research it more.

Marlin used to advertise golden triggers. Either Marlin or Henry. Both are still available. If it was a lever action it was probably a Henry. If it was an auto or bolt action it was probably a Marlin.

Good luck and sorry to hear about your house fire. Hope nothing else irreplaceable was lost.

Henry firearms have names as what you are describing but I did not think they made a semi auto. Browning rifles comes with gold triggers, and they have a semi auto .22 but it is not tube fed. I would check Henry as that does sound like them, but it is quite a pickle you have.
