I've had pricky pear jelly and a cocktail with prickly pear liquor in it. Way too sweet for me ! But, alot of people here in Arizona eat it all the time. It's popular here.
( I'm talking about the cactus )

%. the prickly pear with a fork whilst mature. Take a pointy knife and cut back off the outer dermis to incorporate all the spines. The fruit has seeds in the midsection, the fit to be eaten area is the pulpy fruit.

There is a company called Bolthouse Farms (www.bolthousefarms.com) and they have a drink called prickly pear lemonade and it is the best stuff I have ever tasted. It is very sweet, but amazing!

I've got some kind of pear tree. But the pears are rock hard. A friend told me that you have to boil them. I tried baking them and it took forever for them to get soft. In the end, it just tasted like hot apple sauce.

ya they are really good. You just need to peel the rind off. It's probably my favorite fruit.

You can but they're not the best. He ate them on one episode of Survivor Man as a last resort.
