I try to maintain a regular exorcise program, but it gets very dull and is hard to motivate myself to continue. i do little things like walk briskly wherever i go in the office at work, or parking in the back of the parking lot wherever so i walk farther, to make my life more active. what are some other ways that i can integrate exorcise into my life so that i can worry less about the boring ol' workout. especially strenouse exorcise.

You need to make it fun for you. Try things like rollerblading, swimming, or biking. Find a friend to do these things with you. And try out workout dvds, too. I've been checking some out lately and boxing and kickboxing are a lot of fun. Mia St. John (she is a boxer) has a new one called "Million Dollar Workout". I just got it so I've only checked out a few minutes of it, but it looks fun to me so far. There is one called "The Biggest Loser Workout" (it's from the nbc tv show) that I like a lot, too. You got to find things that you really want to do. Good luck!

Hi there!

The key to a good exercise regimen is to do things that you like. Personally, I like to do sports, weight lifting and martial arts. Thus, I will weight lift for a while, until I get bored with it, then I will switch to martial arts, then I will switch to football, etc.

When it comes to working out, keep in mind that you don't have to sweat to lose weight. You just need to burn more calories than you consume. Thus, if you keep your calories at the right level for your body, and then stay active, you should lose body fat.

Other good ideas to stay active are walking the dog, playing frisbee, skateboarding, shopping, etc. - anything that requires movement.

Change it up (called cross training) to keep it fresh.

I believe this answers your question, but if not, you may email me.

Good luck on your diet and fitness goals!

This is going to sound strange, but I encourage you to play a video game.

Sound strange? Well, the name of this game is Dance Dance Revolution, and I'm an avid fan of the game. The songs are fun, it's easy to learn, and even has a calorie counter. Even shows you how far you've walked by mile increments.

I love this game and have been playing it for 4 years. Some people even do DDR competitions.

Hope this is helpful and fun!!!

(The game is sold on the ps2, and x-box. you can even play in arcades.)

Try listening to music you enjoy while you walk briskly. Try abound the block for 15 mins. You can even to small 10min workouts throughout the day. Just try to stay active. And try to eat the right foods.

one of the biggest things most people do is look at "working out" as work. it should be fun to exercise, may it be in the gym the pool or the woods, on a hike. make a plan but keep it different. what i mean is, FITT, Frequency, Intencity, Time, and Type. these all should very near daily in your work out plan. (time is not the time of day you work out but the amount of time you work out) some days i only work out 20 or so min. then others a 2 hour bike ride. my point is find things in which you want to do and begin to do them slow and eisy at the begining. then as time goes on and your body becomes more toned and stronger increase the time and the Intencity. most important of all things HAVE FUN.

Pick exercises that you enjoy doing. Go slow and gradually build into a more intense routine.

The best way to stick to an exercise routine is to do it with someone else. That way you have to answer to someone when you don't feel like it.
