I called the clerks office 2 days ago, and she said she would put it on the list for discharge. She said it would take about 4 days to be discharged. Does anyone have any knowledge about this?

This is a Chapter 7 bk. Filed in June '06.
Called a week ago and clerk said they couldn't discharge until after 9/11/06, for me to call back on 12th.
I did, and clerk said she put it on the list (docket?)
Any one got any experience with that?
Also, we file pro-se, no attorney.

That was not my experience in US Bankruptcy court. My bankruptcy took 90 days to discharge.

It depends on what kind of bankruptcy it is. If it was a chapt 13 and you were prompt about contacting your lawyer after your plan ended then it can be pretty quick. I've seen them take anywhere from 30-90 days depending on how busy the court is, how prompt the debtor is, how prompt the lawyer is, etc.

Depending on where you live .. it takes 2-3 months after your court date (Chapter 7) or after your final payment (Chapter 13).

For instance, the year I filed (2002) , I went to court on my Ch 7, in August and mine discharged in October. Usually your lawyer will mail you the discharge paperwork she/he gets back from the Court... or the court may mail them to you directly. It just depends.

The discharge itself is just a formality. Your protection actually started the moment the case was filed.
