are there more people converting islam or leaving it?

i am muslim and i live in arizona.. where i've never seen any converts but i hear daily more and more americans and christians etc.. are converting to islam, but i'm wondering if their are any leaving it to? which is more so happening......

about a 100,000 convert in the US every year!! you do the math.

since 9/11

do a search on youtube or google about "converts to Islam" and you'll see TONS of interview videos!!

even in TEXAS. can you imagine a Texan Muslim? one of them was a southern Baptist pastor and converted to Islam.
there's also a sheikh called yusuf estes he too is from crawford texas (bush's home town) LOL!!!

i am a Muslim too, Assalamoa alikum, I have heard in the past Muslims coverting otherwise in palces far from big cities and where Islamic teachings were avaiable far less than Christian missions, I have personally met quite a few converts, I know a few and I have heard that almost every Friday the downtown Manhattan mosque has one or more people conevrting. Accurate figures are hard to find since there is either no or biased census on these issues. I hope there are more converting to Islam than are those turning away. peace

There are more converts to Islam every year. About a quarter of the newly converted are women.. I believe this to be because in Islam woman is considered a separate creation of god, not one out of a man's rib which appeals to women as it gives them more equal footing with men.

I myself am a follower of the Tao and not apt to revert to any religious belief that is based on the "person" of god.

I feel that Converting to ISLAM is a mericle.
The attacks on this wonderful comprehensive everlasting religion are so many and continutious.
But see how Allah saves his religion.How many ppl all over the world convert to it by theirself and without any pushing from muslims to do so.
See how muslims return back to it , stick to it and correct the BRAIN WASHING done to muslims the last years.
Muslims well know that the only way to their strenghth ,success and winning is in practicing ISLAM as did the prophet MUHAMMAD (PBUH) and his companions and all their followers.
Not only muslims know that but also their enemies get that fact and this is why they do their best to let muslims be not real muslims so that they will be weak and easily attacked.

I think people convert and leave religion all the time regardless of what it is. I was born and raised muslim, as I started getting older I questioned many things, learnt other religions like christianity, judaism, hinduism, buddhism etc. All of them convey the same message I think and buddhism was a splendid was of living but personally I can't truly follow any so I decided to be an agnostic and am happy with it.
So in short, i left it.

I heard that around one million people convert to Islam every year. But leaving Islam is highly rare.

There are some leaving, but they aren't talked about for fear of being killed (honest - it was stated in the article I found).

There were about 5,000 that left Islam last year in the UK. Sorry, I can not give the article, I was reading it yesterday. I will look again and see if I can post the link.

neither have i seen anyone, its such a good religion u just dont want to leave it, about 5 people have convert to islam in our local mosque

is it really converting to Islam when they have a gun to your head??

Name any other religion that would put a gun to your head and ask your to convert or die?
