Hi i have very pale skin, but i dont know what colour to dye my hair. Ive hadit brown for ages now but people love to tell me i look pale and ill. So i know black suits pale skinned people, so should i go black for a change, then if people say i look ill, i have an excuse its because my hair is so dark but i think it would look cool. Ive had it nearly black before and people dont comment as much on looking pale. My hair wont bleach blonde due to other hair dyes on my hair at the mo. I also have dark eyebrow and brown eyes. What do you think ?

Sure try black, but make sure it's a temporary dye. That way if it turns out not to suit you, it will be gone in a few weeks anyway. I think a dark burgundy or cherry red (reddish black) is more flattering for most pale skinned people who want dark hair.

My experience (I'm very very pale) is that I got almost no 'you look ill' comments when I was dying my hair black (not blue-black or red-black, but more of a natural black). I am back to getting them now that my natural colour (a dark blonde/light brown) is very visible. Also, as both my skin and natural hair colour are cool-toned, if my hair colour is too 'warm' I look sickly, so keep your skin tone in mind.
If your hair is a medium brown right now and you really don't want the 'ill' comments, you probably want to go a darker brown rather than a lighter brown. If you go black (which can look very good), just remember it can be impossible to get rid of without cutting and that in most instances it does not look natural.

Angel, you have several different issues going on here with your hair. The only way to lighten the dye from your hair is by bleach or a stripper. if the hair is long and depending on how much color has been put on before. You hair can fall off. Check and see if there is a Beauty School near you. the cost will only be half of what a salon would charge you. Your age and skin tone determines your hair color. If your hair is real damaged and you add black color you can come out looking like a brillo soap pad. . You can go to a salon and have your eyebrows lightened. For now condition your hair. Conditions used with heat is the only way for the treatment to penetrate your hair shaft.
Good luck

I'm a natural blonde but i am very pale. I dyed my hair black and I don't think i look half as pale now. Red black is also good as the red sheen looks really nice with pale skin. If you are not sure try a semi permanent to see what you think.

I know what u mean, have been in the same situation & am still in the same situation.
My hair is naturally black but almost brown colour, I've done blonde to my hair & I looked like Garfield the cat. I've done brown also, it looks quite good and will really bring out ur eye colour. I've also tried red which is quite good, but tends to fade quite easily. And i've done the black colouring. Basically I looked like a goth, & all those colours I went through happened in a month this year.
I think reds & browns are quite nice to complement ur complexion. But u say that ur hair is already coloured, then why not go for highlights also. multi-tonal highlights will bring out the shine in ur hair & make ur look fresh & wide awake.

The young girls I work with are in to black hair and eyes just now and look great - go for it and wear dramatic make-up. Don't be scared - I am ancient, and have recently dyed mine back to v. dark brown and it looks great. Red lippy is also a must at night.I am very pale and colour just works so well. Goood luck xx

Light Brown as if you dye it black you will find not many hairdressers will try change it back if you dont like its quite hard to dye back over.
I have pale skin i have mine dark brown with Blonde highlights and bits of black in it.
Try a darker brown than it is now and add a few black highlights maybe??

If you have pale skin black isnt good for you. Unless of course you want a gothic kind of look. It makes your face look really white. Brown would be better, try a hazel kind of colour. I am not sure your avatar shows you waht result you will have in true life. Trust me, pale skin with black dyed hair looks bad.

In my experience dyed black hair always looks dyed and it depends if you are trying to go for a "natural" look or not. Newly dyed black hair can be a bit much unless you want to look like Morticia Addams ( which is a good look ). Maybe go a shade lor two lighter on the brown you have at the moment?
