Respect is definitely a form of love. If someone cannot respect you then they don't love you.

well, it seems like it would be hard to respect someone without having at least some love for them, though I suppose it is possible. But you can certainly love someone without respecting them. Kids are a good example of that. You love them, but it's hard to have respect for the two year old that just broke your favorite teacup. Respect and love are two different things, and they can be be a part of each other, but they don't have to be.

It can be..I love my wife but yet I respect the person she is, I respect the things she does and try's to do for the family and myself
But when I was in the martial arts fighting in the ring..I respected the other fighter..I did not love him..I wanted to take him out and get it over with.
you can respect nature...
Respect comes in many forms..

well i mean it could be but its not the same thing, you should have respect for everyone not only the ones you love. I guess it just depends on what you are talking about when it comes to respect and love

No, but it should be part of it along with trust and lack of jealousy... This is how my wife and I have made it 10 years... You cannot and shoulnot expsct utopia when entering into a relationship or marriage. There will be problems witch can be worked out. Remember, for better or worse.. People today are jumping into relationships expecting things to be like fairy tale endings... When their expectations fall short, the lawyers are called... We need to be realistic about our relationships and our partners... Remember the physical attraction that caused that first hook up.. Well do you think now, just because you are a couple the other will not find the opposire side attractuve..

you have to respect someone before you can love them so in a way yes..... but you should respect friends too!! the two emotions can be seperate. Good question tho!

Depends. I respect killer bees, but I don't love them. Alternately, I respect my parents and I love them.
I think if you love someone, then respect should come along with that, but you don't have to love someone to respect them.
