You have the politically correct, limp-noodle parents that issue "time-outs" instead of an azz-thrashing to blame.
Kids don't learn respect by being talked to, they learn it from a hand to the azz.
Back in the good ol' days, your neighbors would even spank you. Schools would whack your knuckles or use a big paddle. But now? Parents feel that their kids are "special"...Uh no, they are not. They need discipline in the form of corporal punishment...PERIOD!
Good question.

i do not imagine it has something to do with how mothers and fathers discipline a lot because the actual undeniable reality that households are not close anymore. children are raised by employing their friends all day and then come abode to an empty abode or are carted off to nightly after college events and then you need to aspect in homework. It breaks my heart that there must be a damn billboard merchandising for households to devour dinner at the same time once a week. employing children everywhere 5-6 days a week to do stuff with different childrens is ridiculous. mothers and fathers, childrens and children do not recognize one yet another anymore and it has led to a breakdown contained in the yankee relations. IMHO, i trust that issues are so undesirable because children are elevating one yet another as well because the television. mothers and fathers have exceeded over their household tasks because they prefer 'stuff' and to be in a position to have the funds for a huge abode, vast automobile, with a lot of 'stuff' and then to make amends for not being there or not spending time with their children they purchase them 'stuff' and then the vicious cycle of "operating to have issues on the cost of the relations" will proceed on to the subsequent era. this is not the youngster's fault...this is the mothers and fathers. And we've got a era of children that may slightly take excitement in the outstanding thing about simplicity and the basics and one which looks (for the most section) to easily discover excitement even as they have issues or are consistently having something to do.

I think it's the parenting skills, some parents just can't be bothered with the hassle of dealing with a situation or saying no to their children. Some children have just never been learnt to respect anything at all..after all the kids learn by example..

I think that in this day and age children don't know the difference between right and wrong, parents are alot more leanient with kids when they do wrong, like just giving out to them and then leaving the subject go. I know when i was wrong we always got punished for doing things bad, like being grounded or having things taken from us etc. I remember one time, i was about 12 or 13 and my dad caught me swearing on the street and as punishment, i was mad brush my teeth with mustard, which i hate!!! It worked though, even if i didn't speak to him for weeks after!!! Parents should be a bit more authoritive with their kids and let them know what right and wrong...

Yup, kids today do get away with everything. They know they can threaten teachers/parents with legal action or parental action because their parents don't have a backbone and let them run rampant. Today's kids being the way they are is wholely from their lack of parenting and their parent's not giving a crap what they do or how they act.

I agree with most of the views above. I think the biggest culprits are parents. As they have not learned to respect others they don't teach their children to show respect. I have seen and heard children as young as three using extremely foul language in front of their parents. I was saddened to note that during one such incident a man was actually encouraging his daughter to swear at a passing motorist who had done them no harm. The Government should make it compulsory to teach people good parenting at ante natal classes

yes children are behaving worse - but its been shown as a lot worse than is true - the worst behaviour is more publicised nowadays, making it seem like bad behaviour is more common than not

Blame the government for bringing laws out that let them get away with it.
