If you cover something 24/7 with neosporin will it heal faster than only putting it on once or twice a day?

Yes...but the benefit would be negligible. A few times a day, especially overnite, is adequate

If you have a wound use neosporin only two to three times a day and leave it alone in the middle of the night. In this case the more not the merrier. Most important, keep the wound clean. Before each application clean the wound with hydro peroxide or alcohol, then apply the neo. If the wound is a bad one it may require a bandage covering it.

Two days ago I impaled my right index finger on a 5 inch x-acto blade.

I place neosporin on a small bandaid, place it on the wound, and then cover it with a much larger bandaid to secure it and protect it.

I've already got a nice scab on it (And this is a pretty massive wound).

Keep it covered 24/7. The less you expose it to the elements, the greater the chance it won't get infected. Put Neosporin on it, cover it, LEAVE it that way until the next day. Good luck, friend!

All wounds, eventually do need "air".

If you put neosporin on, and then a band-aid in the morning, and changed it in the evening, all will be fine.

you wouldnt necessairly need to use that much neosporin on it, using it twice a day and then putting a bandage over it would work out fine.

Not really - it may actually impede the healing process. If you keep messing with the wound it doesn't have time to heal.
