I just had a baby 2 months ago, and I need to drop 20 lbs. I used to be in the Navy, and we did all kinds of exercises. What can you tell me to do to drop the weight.

Run: Running on an empty stomach is best, because you'll be burning calories from fat, not food.

Weights: Muscle burns fat! If you can't get to a gym, do crunches, lunges, push-ups, and mountain climbers.

Drink lots of water. Water helps break down fat, and will tamp your appetite, so you won't over eat. A moderate amount of caffeine will give you energy and help burn fat, too.

You can do other little things as well. Try to walk more, especially after meals. Take a stroll with the baby after lunch or dinner; walk to a nearby store instead of driving.

Oh, and you can't pinpoint where you lose weight, like Q-Burt said. You just have to reduce your overall bodyfat. Have you ever seen anyone with a six pack and flabby arms?

Any exercize program works. The trick is to actually do it. 3 times a week for a half hour to an hour. Don't look for results, just let them appear. And start off EEEASY!

I use a Bowflex (way too expensive) but my brother loves the Billy Blank DVD's. We are both in great shape and love being slim and muscular even though I'm 49 and he's 51.

I was in the army airborne and did an hour of PT then ran 4 miles in 28 mins 5 days a week. I don't think you'd be crazy about it.

just to post a correction to someone else's posting. Running does not burn the most calories or take weight off the fastest. Swimming at a moderate speed or biking at 11mph or faster take nearly triple the calories off in the same amount of time. After having a baby, swimming is the best as it is working muscles throughout your body not anyone spot. Add to swimming with a good weight regimine to target specific areas for toning like your abs.

If you're nursing, the baby will be taking some of those calories away from you, so that will help.

The thing to remember is: only 20% of your caloric intake goes towards actually moving your body -- the other 80% is needed just to maintain your body temperature. Nothing is going to help you lose weight as efficiently as cutting back on what you eat, particularly if you can eliminate as much fat and dairy products as you can stand.

Well, I am more of USMC, so really, regular old PT should take care of you. Sit-Ups, Push-ups, Running, Leg Kicks. Set time for an hour or so and you should be where you want in weight in no time.

To answer who works the hardest, Marines do, their bootcamp is 13weeks long, and well it is so advance and tough. If anyone from another branch of service wants to switch over to USMC, they have to go through Marine bootcamp, how if a Marine wants to say go over to the Navy, they don't have to go through their bootcamp because they had Marine bootcamp training. Can't argue there really of who is the best trained in bootcamp and in whole of all the military branches.

Walking to jogging to running...

Calisthenics

Paladis (spelling)

Low impact aerobics

Nothing drops weight like running. If you want to fill or drop in a certain area, you need to do localized exercises.

Good Luck

Walk a lot. But see your doctor first and get recommendations especially for you. I gained 30 lbs after boot camp in the Army, but it was all rippling muscle!

There is no real secrets. Stop drinking carbonation and that alone will do wonders. Have variety in your workout, such as weights, running, biking, swimming.
