Last year was the year of bad luck. I broke my ankle..lost my job...couldn't get anouther job for 8mo. I was on crutches for 6mo. I got a new job that pays $1,000 less a mo. I am paying off expenses aquired during unemployment. The car I bought before losing my previous job takes up over 1/2 of my income. I make $9hr. I am a single parent. This sucks. Any ideas?

See how much you still owe on it and try to sell it for a fair price, but more than you owe on it...then take the remainder (that you can afford) to buy a car with cash, so you are free from any payments. That will help you get ahead a little and catch up on your expenses accrued while you were injured.

Sell it with the finance company as the lein holder. The $ you get from the sale buy a small older car you could live with until you get back on your feet.

Try to sell it for $X,000 dollars and "take over payments" terms.

Use the $X,000 to buy a cheap beater untill you get on your feet!

Best of luck.
