Grief is a multi-faceted response to loss. Although conventionally focused on the emotional response to loss, it also has a physical, cognitive, behavioral, social and philosophical dimensions.
Our response to loss is varied and researchers have moved away from conventional views of grief.
Feelings of unreality, depersonalization, withdrawal, and an anesthetizing of affect. These feelings often occur early in grief, and may be a self-protective way of getting through the facts of the death. Persons often remark on how someone appears stoic or strong when they are actually in shock.
Maybe is what happened to your step mother? are you sure that you are not prejudiced against her?

Everyone does different things to get their mind off of death, she probably needed to go somewhere to think of other things. It helps some people instead of just sitting around thinking about it. She may of needed to pull herself together and playing bingo definety doesnt give you time to do anything else.

I think it is very disrespectful, they say everyone has a different way to grieve, and that just may have been a way for her to not have her husbands death on her mind.

If it were my step-mom, I would slap the hoe and tell her how disrespectful she is being and that she needs to be there for you and any other siblings you may have.

People act strange when loved ones die. I know that I did.....Sounds like she is running way from the reality of it. I went nuts and ran for four years after my husband died. I am just now getting over it. It's painful to watch according to my sister.....You know already if she really loved your dad......don't doubt it because she is off her rocker at the moment.

Don't judge her by what she's doing right now, what mattered is how she treated your father and how she made him feel while he was alive.

Is that her way of celebrating? That was thoughtless of her. IT seems like she wanted him dead. Pretty heartless of her.
