I'm having really bad pains that feel kind of sharp at the top of my stomach/in my rib cage, and it's been happening for about a week. Has anyone ever experienced this, or is there a doctor out there that could tell me what it sounds like? It comes and goes and it lasts for about 20 seconds, but when it happens I can barely breath because when I do it hurts worse. Please help! Thanks:)

It's in the dead center of my stomach (right under my ribs, but it's in the middle of my stomach (not the side or front or anything). And I'm not pregnant, and I'm not ovulating or premenstrual

Could it be from drinking too much juice that is acidic? I drink a lot of water, but I have been drinking juice too.

See a doctor right away. However, sometimes poor posture can affect you and feel like stomach pain. You may also have reflux where the stomach acids dumps in the esophageal passage and burns like heck. SEE A DOCTOR RIGHT AWAY>

If it's on your right side, it could be gallbladder, although they usually aren't that sort of intermittent. What it sounds like to me is a spasm in the muscle wall - those suck and can certainly take your breath away. Call the doc to have him check you to rule out anything like a broken rib or gallbladder issues. If it is the spasm they may give you a mild anti-spasmodic muscle relaxer and tell you to take it easy.

Good luck

Hi, well I had those pains when I first found out I was pregnant. It could be that or you're premenstrual. Have you had your period this month yet? It also could be that you're ovulating.
