I noticed in Lion King and others were 'earth centered' (duh) but in others like Aladin there is a classic hero's journey about an inner struggle, then outward struggle with people then ultimately over 'good and evil'

is there a pagan theme, christian theme, world religion theme like hinduism, buddhism, or other in Disney movies?

think of Peter Pan and tell me you can't find a theme like dreaming and hope, keeping youth and creativity alive, and getting along with fake mermaids, Native Americans, and 'bad guys' pirate or friendly 'lost boys'

Read Hero With A Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell. The Hero Arc is a classic story type, and it is found in the bible, as well as in works written long before the bible. it is often used in Disney movies.

Different Disney movies have little bits of various religious things in them. In Mulan, the ancient chinese ancestor worship was respected as part of the story. Aladdin had some bits of islam sprinkled here and there, just to be more ethnically accurate. Shrek had that "Hallelujah" song in it. So the Disney franchise tries to cater to all but subtley. I can respect that. After all, it is presented as part of a fairy-tale. LOL

I think there are spiritual themes not religious ones.

Besides.. Christians don't like Harry Potter how do they deal with an umbrella flying nanny, a sea-witch, fairy godmothers, a sorcerer's apprentice and a Genie?

Dunno but i find it a bit humorous on all these people against harry potter (because therse magic... oOoO) yet they watch disney movies, and CS LEWIS (yes there was a witch in narnia) they allow their kids to watch these, do they not realize how much magic and "evil" is in those as well?
