some of the answers here smack of the very brainwashing also called a "NON ANSWER" because circular reasoning and logic does not compute..because I said so does not 'add up'
then again, you did ask for Godbelievers' answer
most will not quote a scripture but quote a speaker and repeat doctrine like metaphysics

God, is God or Because (someone told me so) this points to a vacuum or lack of understanding and blind faith in a person rather than the God they speak of. They usually do not know personally and cannot explain with a valid answer using fact, own experience, usually relatively new and once they do own research it all unravels

I know my god, is god, because of the greek saying "know thyself" and now see myself as capable and able to make decisions we normally attribute to a god, but we act as god ourselves daily with our choices and we use the power of life and death, fate, destiny each day and I also see the outcome good and bad of my actions, then judge myself and make adjustments. I am aware of the power of my words and choices and can create things both beneficial and harmful based on my whim. I am the antithesis of typical 'godbelievers' where I look in the mirror and see one of many gods on earth, but choose to rule myself rather than join cults.

Why do you request, and what gives you the authority to publicly challenge other peoples religion?
I feel that asking you where you came from before you were born and where are you going when you leave this place are more meaningfully. Maybe you might tell us why humans are on earth since nothing in nature requires our presence to survive. Why even come here and then leave? What is the purpose of any of this?
Maybe, in your infinite wisdom, you might offer where matter, energy came from? Where did anything that exists come from too include the matter/material/source that it is made up of. An explanation of how, what ever, came into existence should be very interesting.
Too, other sources of life- where ever. And please do not offer earth only, which is only one grain of sand on the beach, as the only grain with some sort of backwards life on it.
Backwards because we have not developed past killing or insulting each other. We abuse the only way we can get here and then spend the rest of the time messing up our food supply!
And now, we should tell you about GOD! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know my God is God because he
1. gives me inner peace
2. comforts me in my time of need
3. listens to all of my problems
4. answers my questions i have
5. loves me
6. died for my sins
7. will come back and make it right.
there are plenty of reasons of my God but mostly is that i believe .

because is my creator, the reason i draw breath and the father of the human race. I know my God is God because of all the good there is, the blessings I've recieved and His willingness to let me suffer so that I better appreciate what i have.

. . .all religions basically worship the same idea, no matter how they express what gender/face/aspect God has. So no religion is more "right" than another that prods its followers to treat everyone equally, and not discriminate based on gender, race, origin, divorced status, or sexual orientation.
Sigh. Wouldn't it be great if all religions were truly like this?

You may deny God is real, but can you really clam that there is no devil???
