Is it true that people lose their tan during winter, even though the Earth is closer to the sun at that time?

Anyway, do they still have to wear sunblock and avoid the sun? Or does the tan go on its own?

people do lose their tan during the winter because they dont go outside enough when its cold, and they are covered up all the time.

If you experience what some would call wind burn it actually is sun burn. It's ok to wear sunblock and my tan always disappears.
