Might be nothing - might be hand foot and mouth. It is very common this time of year. Not much you can do but wait it out. If concerned see your doctor.

Is he still on a bottle? They will cause blisters from sucking too much. Other than that I would ask your pediatritian, it could be thrush if it is a white patch.

if you are feeding them hot foods, they could have a burn on their tongue. or they could have scraped their tongue on something
