My mum has had rheumatoid arthritis since she was 35, her brother was born with it as was his son, now my sister of 35 has it, she is devastated, she was told hers was hereditary. So yes I'm waited with baited breathe and praying I don't.
Look after yourself, keep fit but not to stressful on the joints. Please keep your weight down, eat healthily. you'll learn to cope.

I don't know why, either, but I have a friend with the condition who went to a practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine and got phantastic results, may be you might try it.

I thought I had it. But mine was just symptoms of my menapause. I think overdoing things in your life might contribute, but I don't know. Like knitting, piano playing , running, .......
