I'm not sure If he is lactose intolerant or does it on purpose but When he cries really hard he throws up. Usually he is crying so hard he starts coughing and then throws up. Last night it was chocolate milk but I can't remember if he has had milk previous times or not. any suggestions? He has been dignosed with whooping cough but It is only a mild case. He only coughs once a day or not at all. He has had antibiotics a few yeeks ago for it but the doc says it can take 100 days for the cough to disapear. Maybe it's just his cough still???

And No he is not abused. The opposite actually. We are trying to get him to sleep in his own bed and he doesnt like that so of course any kid would cry.

If you had brought up the lactose concern to his doctor and they didn't think it was a concern, then I wouldn't be too concerned about but still keep an eye on when it's happening (what he's doing at the time like if he's crying), I would document it to show to his doctor.
It is pretty common for children who get upset and cry and just have hard 'fits' to upset their stomach in the process of throwing this fit to where they can basically force themselves to throw up.
It's pretty much nerves. Have you ever gotten real nervous and felt nauseated?? It's the same thing, he could just be getting so upset to where it causes him to throw up.
Or if he's just coughing before it happens, then he could cough so much to where it kicks in those gag reflexes and causes him to throw up.
Both of these are not too big of a concern, you just need to keep him calm and if it does happen just document it. What he ate right before, was he coughing before he threw up and if so how much was he coughing (constant coughing can cause anyone to gag) or was he throwing a fit???? I would keep track and after a few times, you should know the cause of this. And then talk to his doctor and I'm sure no matter what the cause there's more than likely something that can help. Good luck

Was he having a temper tantrum? When my brother was younger, about that age, he would do the same thing. Whenever my mom would say no to something he wanted, he would get himself so worked up with crying and coughing that he would eventually throw up. I don't think it's anything to worry about -- just a spoiled kid. But if you're concerned about him being lactose intolerant, I would take him to the doctor and get that checked out ASAP.

the best way to answer is that my 2 yesr old coughs is when he is throwing a fit i think that the only reason he dose that is for attion so next time your son dose that maybe try to calm him down and then see if hell start coughing again. my son had whooping cough once and he reall was coughing but he dosent have it any more

Ask his doctor if he should be having milk while he has Whooping Cough. He may be getting too much phlegm (Kind of like when you have a cold)

I think it is common for kids to get so worked up crying that they throw up. My neice did it when she was about that age. You might want to consult your doctor, it may be necessary to try a lactose free milk or soy milk.

Perfectly normal to vomit when crying hard and coughing.
No chocolate milk, especially at night. Too much sugar.
Why is he crying hard enough to vomit often enough that you would worry about it? Is someone abusing the child mentally or physically?

actually, projectile vomiting is not the uncommon. It is not a disease or infection. We had a projectile vomitor at age 2. I use to feed him wearing a rain coat. Don't be concerned. They'll grow out of it.
