Friends are getting married and the reception is listed as "adult reception at 6:00 p.m." What should I wear? The same outfit that I wore to the wedding earlier in the day? Khakis and a blouse? It's at a reception hall which, from my understanding, is pretty nice. It's not the Ritz, but it's not McDonald's either. :) Help!

OK, I worded that sort of strangely. I didn't mean to imply I was wearing khakis and a blouse to the wedding!! I meant to ask should I wear the same outfit I wore to the wedding (a dress) OR khakis and a blouse, or what? Sorry for the confusion!

My friend recently went and she wore a nice black dress. You can never go wrong with black. Have fun!

It's an evening reception, so you may want to change into a dress that's appropriate for eating out at night. "adult reception" simply means don't bring your kids.
Khakis and a blouse might be okay, but since you're dining in the evening, you may want to go for something a bit dressier. Maybe instead of khakis, you can wear a silk skirt and a dark blouse that could transform from day to evening without a lot of work, and without having to change. You can put your hair up in the day and take your hair down for the reception, and maybe add some jewelry to spice things up.

Well, I hope your Khakis and blouse are really nice. I would suggest a nice pants suit or dress for the wedding. If you're going to wear the khakis and blouse anyway, then they should be fine at the reception as well.

Something cute but simple
Little black dress always works!
Try business casual-comfortable but still tasteful
Anything after 6pm should have a little flair, but not evening gown flair. Khakis would be for the guys maybe not the girls. Dress up the blouse or just find out what others are wearing.

A dress would be more appropiate for both the wedding and the reception. Something like you would wear to church on Sunday, classy but casual.

Wear something nicer to the reception. Your casual outfit was for the afternoon, and evening events tend to be a bit more dressy.
Although I'm sure no one is going to throw you out for wearing the same outfit!

That'll be positive. i like me a competent toddler in formalwear, despite if it is great duper no longer needed. Frankly, pajamas are desirable wedding ceremony placed on for a newborn that small. yet, in case you incredibly need to do the toddler healthful project I exceedingly propose consignment shops or ebay. youngsters placed on that style of project as quickly as so i could be prepared to wager you will get some thing with 0 placed on and tear.

I'd say wear something medium nice to the wedding then wear it to the reception as well...A nice dress, with pantyhose and dress shoes...Always look your best is my motto.
