Religion is man interpreting the meaning of God, faith is your personal pursuit of the truth. Religion was invented by man, faith is all that God asks. Religious differences cause war and suffering, faith teaches peace. Through prayer, which is common to all religions, can you find true peace and receive instruction as to how God wants you to understand Him. Peace is the true test of the validity of the instruction you receive. Obviously, man's interpretation has not resulted in peace!

Without God, all people resort to animalistic behavior and society reverts to might makes right. It is true that many "religious" people do not act according to their supposed beliefs. Their aggresive behavior towards one another belies the peaceful teachings they supposedly espouse. Be that as it may, religion, a belief in God and His teachings of love and service to one another, is the only thing that keeps society in some semblance of control. It is the good people among us that keep the bad people in check. Without the good people then the bad people would rule unchecked and society would disentegrate altogether.
We have to continue to not only follow religious principles but strive to share and spread those principles throughout the world. It is our only hope.

I understand your frustration but in light of the underlying truth(explained next) and the fact that people will just make new reasons for war, it is probably not going to happen
the underlying truth is "God created us because He wanted, friends, and He wanted friends who would choose both good over evil and who wanted to His friend. So we have to know about good and evil so some of us need graphic examples, and we must choose and we must also want to be friends with our creator in order to live with Him at His home called heaven, which would not be a fun place if either your neighbors parcticed evil or did not want to be there, so this is what you get. That is as simple as I can make it. Hopefully you understand now. So choose already and then help, others choose.

If you learn carefully from the right source, actually most religion teach you to respect and love others. And for that actually you don't need any religion's crap tradition, prayer, prophet, or even God. It's all in your heart. If you don't like something done to you, don't do it to others.
If you curse, hit or even kill someone because he or she disrespect your religion, YOU ARE FAR WORSE THAN THEM.
Learn your holy books carefully, don't just read them like you read Harry Potter.

The System (the 'beast') uses every form of human endeavor and every branch of human society to condition us to its parasitic ways. Religion is the beast pretending to be godly; nothing more and nothing less. Education is the beast pretending to be knowing. Government is the beast pretending to be righteous and true (whichever side we're on). Commerce is the beast pretending to be fair and equitous.
We're all plugged into the system of the greed monster and beast -- in the EXACT way that fits with our own agreement to be plugged in. In the EXACT way that we'll accept and adapt ourselves to fit in order to survive.
Instead of focusing on religion as the 'bad guy' why not go deeper and realize for yourself the core problem that underlies society at large - and affects and corrodes every part of our human world with lies and deciet and war on the brain -- in every person, group, nation and institution who is 'marked by the beast' (conditioned).
Where are you plugged into it? How are you conditioned to adapt to it and support it with your own agreement? Are you even willing to look at yourself and honestly own up to how YOU are contributing to this world of war and mayhem? Stop making a fuss over the symptom which is religion and look deeper. We all KNOW we're living a collective lie - but who is actually willing to say NO to it and take real action against it? Complaining doesn't help.
Peace begins with unhooking from the system that conditions. Religion is not the cause, it is but one of many symptoms.

This is the age-old question of which is more important: intentions or end results?
Of course, the answer, as with many questions like this, is that you need to find a nice balance between the two.

REligion is not the cause of unrest in the world. People are the cause of unrest in the world. You can take religion out of the world and you will still have hate. If you take people out of the world, then there will be no one left to hate.
