All of them also appeared to be cowardly, insecure, and pathetic liars.

That fits. Christians make up about 75% of the US population and 75% of the US prison population. No big surprise there.

Atheists, on the other hand, make up about 10% of the US population... but they only make up 0.2% of the US prison population. Now, isn't THAT a surprise? That means that atheists are FIFTY (50) times LESS LIKELY to be incarcerated than Christians. Pretty strange, huh, for a group that has no god-given guiding moral principals?

I can think of only two possibilities that might reasonably be said to account for this disparity:

1. Atheists are of a higher ethical and moral caliber than Christians, and thus are less prone to do the same kinds of nasty things that land so many Christians in the slammer; OR,

2. Atheists are, overall, a lot smarter than Christians and thus, they are less likely to get caught in the course of their transgressions.

It's GOT to be one or the other... take your pick.

So what? Are you trying to say that being a Christian leads to becoming a child predator? My guess is you've got the wrong cause. I wouldn't blame the religion that flatly condemns all intercourse outside of marriage, I would blame the society that is so chronically obsessed with sex that it leads many to believe it is a survival necessity like food or water.

I do not condone the acts of any of the Christians shown last night (there were people from every religion on that show last night), but I do not blame Christianity.

This was not the first but a contiuation of many other such efforts...it is not suprising that the national media plays up the "christian" conection. The national networks are very much anti Christian. The filmed many more than are aired... they take those that meet their agenda and play them up. They do not want to show the typical "dirty old man"... and to that extent they are correct in showing that it is most likly the guy next door... I am of the Christian Faith...of my "next door neighbors" none are of The Christian Faith. Only one within ten houses either way is a Christian family... They should show a majority, which is the truth, are not of The Christian Faith.

I usually don't answer questions with no value. But I thought I could ADD some value to this one. Atleast for someone.

I didn't see that edition of Dateline.

But did you notice that SO MANY times when people get in trouble, they CLAIM some sort of religion? When they have nothing left to reach for......they reach for that which they have always denied.

Yet and still, that has no bearing on the true christian. That responsibility rests on the one reaching.....not the one who has already attained.

Peace

I think many of you have the wrong idea about Christians. They are people not perfect people or like Jesus.

I strive to be more like Christ, I pray for strength and courage to stand against evil in the world and in myself. I still sin as do all people.

Any Christian that claims to never sin is not honest and goes against the word of God.

What you are doing is trying to say this is what Christians are like, well in a way I guess you are right, it's what non-Christians are like also. We all sin and fall short of the glory of the Lord.

I am not defending these people on this show, I would never condone in any way what they did, but you seem to lay that on them being a Christian, that's silly.

Their are many killers in the world, many pedophiles in the world and many things that are worse and I don't blame your father for them.

Jesus was without sin, men are not. You crucify him over and over with your way of thinking. I have no way of saying these men were or were not Christians and neither do you.Christians can fall and sin in many ways. Sin is sin, when you see a homosexual on TV that claims to be a Christian do you get on here about that, what about people who cheat on their spouse?

Look at what you are saying about Jesus.

theagitator@sbcglobal.net,
Yeah, and wouldn't Mohammed be in prison for marrying a 9 year old little girl? I mean, come on! That was blatant child sex! What ever happened to Muslims that spoke the truth? How come they can't confess that Mohammed was a child molester?
