For performance upgrades for a Volvo don't go with any of these "superchips" or any sort of "plug and play" application. Volvo computers don't work that way. They must be reprogrammed. The best organization for ANY Volvo upgrade is right in your own backyard. IPD in Portland OR. www.ipdusa.com They have over 30 years in the business and an excellent customer service team.

IPD sells ECU upgrades at this link:

http://www.ipdusa.com/ProductsCat.aspx?CategoryID=220&NodeID=432&RootID=629

This will give you the biggest bang for the buck. Call 'em up and discuss what you have, what you've done, and what you're looking to do. They are VERY knowledgeabe and competent.

I have purchased thousands of dollars of Volvo gear from them and have NEVER been disappointed.

Two things:

1 - I live in the northeast and have NO affiliation with IPD (other than as a very satisfied customer) and

2 - they are located in your neck of the woods.

you can either get it superchipped or depending on what performance your after you can either go for a smaller turbo, less lag and quicker acceleration or go for a bigger turbo and get a higher top speed but you will lose a lot of bottom end. BUT if you want the best of both worlds you can go the whole hog and fit a smaller leading into a bigger turbo. the smaller will spin up faster with less lag and will give the bigger turbo time to catch up and take over.

(Also, make the car lighter)
