I prefer Kauai and Maui. Oahu is very busy. Below are some resources that I have used in the past.

I just booked my honeymoon for November in Kauai and Maui. Those are the two islands everyone recommended. Anyways, I tried going through a travel agent who was very helpful. But then I called the Costco travel agents and they gave me a great price. So I recommend you do some research online and then look at the Costco website.
Good luck planning.
BTW - after researching and talking to several people we decided to stay at the Hyatt in both islands. There have some great deals and are suppose to be beautiful.

Definately use a travel agent for your flight and hotel. We honeymooned in Kauai and I thought I could get better deals myself. You can't. The travel agent got us better prices and she got us a better cottage than I would have gotten for the same money. It's your HONEYMOON - don't take any chances. Here's a tip though - don't book extras with your agent- helicopter ride, boat excursions etc. You get a better price if you book them when you get there - the companies have to pay the agents. We didn't know but luckily I couldn't make up my mind until we got there. If you like laid back and natural go to Kauai. Even Maui is very developed now. We opted for a cottage at a plantation in the town of Waimea. Very old Hawaii - not glitzy hotels. Before you go pick up a copy of "Hidden Kauai" - lots of local information you wouldn't know otherwise (local eats, locale of beach access, access to waterfalls etc). There is also "Hidden Maui" etc. Have fun!

I suggest that you go through a travel agent, DO NOT come to Oahu it is so busy and traffic you will spend hours here sitting traffic! I would suggest Kauai, I live on Oahu and I visited Maui and was not impressed I have lived here in Honolulu for 2 years we are a military family and our suggestions would be that you go to Kauai, or Kona not here you will spend the majority of your time sitting in traffic its just crazy here! But Good Luck and Congratulations!!!!!!!1

If you like really crowded areas go to Oahu. There you have the diamond head and pearl harbor. there is also a place where you can get the BEST malasadas which is deep fried dough with sugar on it. IT IS REALLY GOOD. and also there is alamoana center where there is the mall. If you like not really crowded places go to Maui because there they have white sandy beaches. you can go to Haleakala and see the sun rise, which is really beautiful. or go to iao valley and have a picnic. its really quiet there. theres a river there you can see so its soothing. And im not sure about Kauai but i heard it was nice there too. I used to live on Maui so i prefer Maui. But its your choice. And with the travel agency, i dont know about that either. if you want to see the islands and see the tourist places go to the travel agency. but if you like to travel and see the islands as how it is, plan it yourself and have an adventure. Theres always places for tourist there. One thing i forgot, in Maui there is a theater in Lahaina and you can go to it and see a show called ULALENA. I saw it, it was really nice.

We went thru a travel agency for our Hawaiian vacation. If you have the money, I think it's a easier way to go and that way you are guaranteed what you pay for. Plus, they can give you tips for activities to do and pre-book you for them. I'd recommend Oahu. It has the most tourist attractions and Waikiki Beach. Get a hotel on the beach or you will have to walk. You have to take the Grand Island Tour also!

Me and my husband went there last year, and we booked a vacation package through expedia.com. It was really easy and everything went totally smooth. The hotel was awesome... ocean view, the flight was great..I definetly recommend it. I did alot of research and we ended up paying so much less than other websites were charging. Be flexible on your days and keep putting in different combinations, you can get a great deal. We went for 6 days, flew out from Omaha, Nebraska...hotel and flight for 2 people was less than $1500..yeah!
