Obviously France has been invaded many times, but in the 21st century, do you think it would still be pretty easy?

Yes, I have heard of both D-Day and Normandy.

D-Day was a successful invasion but the British failed to secure Normandy as a part of the UK.

the French had already tried that hostile to Gemany on the starting up of the first international warfare. French forces invaded German territory by alsace-lorraine in spite of the undeniable fact that the attack develop into halted, the Germans had expected it and the Germans were better experienced and better geared up than the French. even as the British tried it DID artwork....for slightly. they'd better rifles and coaching than the Germans and beat them countless circumstances till they lost momentum and trench warfare began. a number of those plan for a huge invasion, a short knockout, had crippled both the allies and major powers contained in the first international warfare, neither side wanted to repeat an same difficulty. this is achieveable that the French and British theory they could win by employing combating extra defensively this time, of direction underestimaing blitzkrieg. yet another difficulty is that neither France or Britain had the technologies or numbers of the German military. those 23 German divisions were part of the whole warfare device Europe had ever considered. they'd stepped forward tanks, planes and guns as well as wonderful education and were waiting for warfare, because of the defeat of Poland they were also bloated on victory and morale develop into intense. study that to the allied armies. Their tanks were few and slightly crap, their guns were both previous or unreliable and their planes, before everything, were inferior. those armies were also extremely sparkling, rather the British military, they'd quite some registered squaddies yet really plenty had'nt been experienced as a results of quick advance of the military after the Munich contract, similar case in France. additionally they in basic terms weren't waiting, or acceptable organised yet, even as they did attack it develop into on the precise incorrect second, both a lot too early and an eternity too previous due. German armies were nicely positioned to split up the British and French and theey had to both retreat or danger dropping the warfare.

Hi !
Obviously it's not so easy... If such be the case, they can call NATO ! France is member of this organization since its creation.

According to official sources.... They have a very good place in the world like British troops; there french legion is very famous... Even our Marines know that... and they work together in French Guyana.

In Afghanistan, I can read : french soldiers are efficient.

Cheers

Mr. West

all joking aside from france being a bunch of flag waving nobodies, they have had a long history of warfare (not doing so well this past few centuries though). their terrain is easy to invade, no real logistic problems besides the pyranee mountains. but, well, france is a nuclear power, that sort of throws a wrench in the whole thing.

'Lisa L', Hitler had no problem with keeping France. It's when he tried to invade Russia when he bit iff more than he could chew. Invading and keeping France was not a hard thing to do for the Nazi war machine.

If you examine the evidence of history, you will observe that one of the easiest European countrys to invade is France!..Reason? Incredible military incompetence..The French have a very deserved reputation for "charging in the wrong direction!"If it wasnt so serious, it would be hilariously funny!..Check out the military bungles of Charles{napolean}De Gaulle, Even with overwhelming odds in his favor..He still managed to loose the battle, however!..He lost "gloriously"for France, and they thought he was a hero!!..look at their battles in Algeria?..constatantly beaten literally by spear chucking arabs , look at their history in Vietnam, They tried to turn it into another "La belle France"And ended up being booted out!..{so did America}..Invading France?..Give me 35 girl scouts, a second hand bus, and Dick Cheney with his "shotty gun" and i'll take it in a week! ..

Look to history. Germany has invaded France three times, all successfully, in the last 150 years. Why would this century be any different? Can you think of a military engagement, won by France, since Napoleon?

The invading troops would have to be issued some really good sunglasses to prevent being blinded by all the white flags waving.
