Meditation is the key to increasing your powers of focus/concentration.
But it's hard work.
You can try this simple meditation.
Sit in a comfy position, get settled and close your eyes. Begin counting from 1-10. As soon as you become aware that your mind has slipped into any thought other than the simple counting, start over again at 1.
You'll be lucky to get to 2 without your mind wandering! Keep it up, and eventually your powers of concentration will improve.

You can not stop the mind as it works continously till we die,effecting all changes in us.Happiness,sadness,sensitivity-these are the products of mind.You exercise your mind to concentrate so as to empty these emotions from disturbing you.Happiness is the state of mind,when your body and mind work in unision making the experience memorable so as to search it again.Sadness is a negative emotional feeling which the mind has related to an earlier bitter experience of life.Sensitivity is the condition of a feeling,when the mind alerts the senses that the experience is not compatible to the person.A deeper level of concentration is possible after long experience or through yoga keeping the mind still and realising the self and the object experienced in mind are one and not dual.

Happiness -- a state of excitement arise when you feel satisifed, contentment, pride, and serenity. Happiness is often correlated to the presence of favorable events.
There are three categories of present positive emotions:
* bodily pleasures,
* higher pleasures,
* gratifications
The bodily and higher pleasures are "pleasures of the moment" and usually involve some external stimulus. An exception is the glee felt at having an original thought.
Sadness -- a state of uneasyness arise when you feel suffering, grief, anxiety, and pain.
Sensitivity can be defined as follows.
1. Rapid perception with the senses, reacting to small changes.
2. Reacting appropriately to the emotions or situation of other people, tactful.
3. Readily getting hurt or upset.
4. A person with sensitive skin, which easily becomes painful or inflamed.
Yah, if you want to feel in a state you want,
Please be alone, look at the sky (with stars) and think as if you were in the universe (or not in this world) Don't close your eyes Observe all as if you got an extraordinary vision.
After some observation from the universe, your sub-consious mind would become connected to the universe which is a large network of all existing souls.
Now feel like this " You are one of the souls exist on the earth, all others are just like you but having different bodies, even a grass is also a soul like you, they are also having feelings like you but of various amount. a grass feels happy when it gets food, it knows that food is necessary for living,
ask yourself what are necessary for your life and why ? ...
then why are you feeling happy or depressed and of what ?
will this feeling will satisfy your necessity ?
if yes, it is absolutely right to feel it". ...... ..... .
Try this ... but you must be very patient to get the result.
or otherwise try to concentrate on each and everyone's movement in our beautiful nature. All of them are sources of eternal knowledge.
